This video is kind of horrible, kind of doesn't make sense and kind of does. Can't really describe the song but that it's one of those ones which can potentially leave you sitting in a wretched silence long after it stops playing either crying...or feeling a whole lot worse than crying. In other words it's kind of brilliant.

The first time I heard the album version it was in the middle of the night while I was in bed about to fall asleep, very disturbing and almost painful. I think I may or may not have spontaneously started crying but it is safe to say that EVERY time I listen to this song from beginning to end I get shivers and goosebumps. Such is amazing music.

I didn't really pay attention when they made their debut and I know this album of their original songs came out half a year ago but wtf it's so good! Shame on me for realising so late... Anyway in a very good mood because of it now.

The whole thing is upbeat and party-euphoric, almost cosmic feeling..actually they sound a lot like miami horror and cut copy but whatever, if it makes you happy it makes you happy.

Back in the day when woolly tights were "cool"

I know it was a few days ago but...

R and I went to a Michael Buble concert today (don't laugh) and despite hysterical, middle-aged women making up most of the audience demographic, it was a really good performance! Buble is fantastic live...such a smooth sexy voice....as if you don't melt into a puddle of helplessness at his sultry tones... But other than that, he actually is genuinely charming and funny... not that I know him personally or anything.

This is one of the few STGMG** every listen, without fail. Florence's voice and the intense, expansive sound of the song and the fact that there is a harp AND

"I took the stars from my eyes and then I made a map,
I knew that somehow I could find my way back..."

...makes it the best BEST song on Lungs by far.

Plus, the whole concept of a celestial love is enough to melt me into a girly puddle. I guess now I'm just waiting for an all-encompassing love, assigned to me by some higher power of destiny, a love which transcends all gravitational and logical bounds and reaches the sheer power and vastness of the known and unknown universe. A love which craps on the other stars because of its immeasurable magnitude.

**Songs That Give Me Goosebumps

It would be cool if there was some quirky reason why this thing is named WE MAKE PLANS but it was just because every vaguely cool name has already been taken. Also some unpleasant person took annie.blogspot.com, seriously look at the page and tell me you dont want to send her hate mail for wasting space. Check this and this out as well...seriously who are these non-existent people?!

Actually it comes from some Bloc Party song lyric (Plans?) so there really isn't a 'we' here, and nor do I like to make plans at all... I feel very self-conscious talking to myself heh but Silent Alarm is a pretty damn good album! Atmospheric and sheer sounding, sparse but filling at the same time. It reminds me of what it feels like to go for a run on a really cold morning feeling very dreary but glad that you're completely alone. I'm sure if i actually got off my butt and did that it would feel exactly like that...I wonder if one day I will look back on this and shudder at my music taste?

A comfortable day today, spent mostly with R. Too hot to do anything substantial but hey we all love lazy days, where the most strenuous thing you do is rolling over in bed to a cooler patch to resume another nap ;P
